Indian takeaway
As we all know, you definitely have a huge amount of choices when it comes to Indian cuisine. If you're looking for some brilliant, tasty food but haven't got much of a budget, head to Indian Fast Food on Cheltenham Road. They offer the traditional dishes such as Chicken Tikki, Bhuna's and Kurma's as well as their own speciality dishes that include sauces created by their star chefs. For poppadoms, a main, nans and rice expect to pay less than a tenner each - bargain! A hit with the locals, Redland Tandoori is known for it's friendly service and delicious curries. Having been in business for over 10 years, they use no artificial colouring in any of their dishes and prices start from just under five pounds for a main meal.
If you have any veggies or vegans in your family, the One Stop Thali Cafe is definitely the place to go for your take away treat. Their starter menu consists of just one item - an array of Indian pastry snacks (including samosas) whilst their main dishes include the infamous Thali - a large platter of South Indian delights including a huge mound of plump white rice, a fragrant lentil dhal and various other portions of lovingly crafted vegetarian foods. It's fantastic for a sit down meal, but you can purchase your very own tiffin for your take away needs. Look out for special offers for loyal customers!
Chinese and Thai food is another popular choice on a Saturday night and you can't go wrong with Thai Pepper on Cheltenham Road. A family run business, they offer a range of soups, curries and noodles. Vegetarians won't be disappointed either as there's plenty of meat free dishes on the menu. Jasmine, also located on Cheltenham Road is a fantastic Chinese find. Serving the traditional and tasty dishes such as aromatic duck and spring rolls, this place never gets it wrong with price, service or quality. Cheung Kong restaurant located on North View is another great place for a quick meal. They're always friendly, whilst producing orders quickly.
If fish and chips are more your thing, head to Smiths Fish Bar. Since the new ownership, locals have praised it's freshness and fast, friendly service. The award winning Kellaway Fish Bar is another must visit, with most locals claiming their fish and chips is the best in the whole of Bristol. Mastering a winning recipe, their food is less grease and more great! If you fancy something a little more naughty, head to Arches Fish Bar where they also sell pizza's, kebabs and burgers. We won't tell anyone!

I have a friend who travels from their new home on the other side of Bristol just to get their favourite order from Redland Tandoori on Chandos Road.
