Recycling over Christmas

- Christmas cards and wrapping paper EXCEPT for shiney wrapping paper can be recycled in black boxes.

- Remember to recycle leftover festive food in your food waste bin this Christmas.

- You can also recycle plastic food packaging not just plastic bottles in your green box. (Black plastic is not recyclable).

- You can also recycle large chocolate tins and tin foil in your green box.

Christmas tree recycling

This year you can place your 'real' Christmas trees out on the kerbside on your collection day for recycling between Wednesday 2 and Saturday 12 January.

You can also take your real Christmas tree to either of the household waste recycling centres all year round. Christmas trees can also be recycled by taking them to Bristol Zoo (North Car Park)  from Monday 31 December until Saturday 12 January (except Sunday 6 January). Only real Christmas trees will be accepted for recycling.

The council's household waste recycling centres will be open from 8am to 4.15pm every day except Tuesday 25 December and Wednesday 26 December.
