It's a well known fact that men are some of, if not the most difficult people to buy gifts for. That's why we've compiled this list of Christmas gift ideas to help you out with some of those difficult decisions. Whether it's your husband, boyfriend, brother or son, the offerings in Redland are sure to provide that perfect present.

If your man is into his rare ales and beers, then look no further than Corks of Cotham. They offer a wide selection of various tipple and the staff are more than willing to help you put a hamper together. There's also Oddbins in Redland and the charming Brewers Droop on Gloucester Road. All of these stores showcase independent and local beers, ales and wines as well as stocking drinks from around the world.

The musical man will surely appreciate this new vinyl revival and there's no better place to bag a bargain (and a rare find!) than The Beat Goes On in Cotham, or Plastic Wax Records on Cheltenham Road. If you really want a rummage, then head to the ground floor of RePsycho on Gloucester Road. There, you'll find boxes upon boxes of every genre and almost every album. You'll really have to go for it but it's well worth it when you can grab classic albums at starting prices of £3. If the man in your life is a little younger, he may appreciate the stock in Idle Hands on Stokes Croft. They offer the latest in dubstep, house, techno and reggae vinyl as well as tickets and CD's.

If he's a bookworm, then head to Books for Amnesty for a huge selection whilst having all the profits go to a worthy cause. They usually have some great deals on every month so make sure you keep your eyes peeled! If second hand is not your thing, then try M.G. Manwaring in Redland. It's not as well known as some book shops around the area, but with a warm atmosphere and local feel, it's definitely worth a visit. There's also Durdham Book Shop on North View, which has been serving Bristol for a whopping 30 years and has established a reputation for having more books per square meter than any other shop in the area!

If you're looking for some dapper clothes to smarten your man up in time for the festive season, then Case & Edwards on Zetland Road is definitely the best of the best. Offering a bespoke service for men, they can tailor the perfect fitting suit just in time for the New Year. It's not cheap but the service and quality of the products is undeniable. If your man is not the suit type and lives in his t-shirts, then head to Beast on Cheltenham Road for motif tee's and hilarious Bristolian products.

So, those are a few ideas for the men in your life. Whether he's a man's man, a bookworm or a music junkie there's definitely lots of ideas in the area. Good luck and happy shopping!

Thank you so much for these idea's! I can never think what to get my dad and my brother but I'll definitely be popping to a few of these shops on my next venture out. I'm not sure I could sift through all those dusty books though, maybe I'll get some of the staff to do all my Christmas shopping for me!
