Graffiti was daubed on the front entrance to Bristol Zoo, in Guthrie Road, and the glass-fronted doors were smashed between 5pm on Monday (December 31) and 4am on New Year's Day.

Police believe a number of people may have been returning from New Year's Eve parties and may have been in the Guthrie Road area during the early hours of January 1.

They would like to hear from anyone who may have information to help enquiries or may have seen someone acting suspiciously.

Anyone able to help is asked to contact Bristol CID on the force number 101 or on-line using the following link http://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact/crime_reporting/
