With only five days to go, time is running out to get that extra special gift for that extra special person this Valentines Day. If you're struggling for ideas, here's a few local, independent businesses that will cater to your other halves every need.

Valentine's Day
Who doesn't love a bunch of flowers? They're an established Valentines gift and if you get the right fix of flowers, your other half will be in heaven. Placed right in the heart of Redland, House of Flowers has a fantastic selection including the traditional red rose. They're widely known among the locals and provide an excellent service to each and every customer. On Zetland Road, you'll find Edith Wilmot Florists, which also have an excellent array of flowers for any personality.
If your other half is the type of person that already has everything they need, then you need to head to Iota, located on Gloucester Road. This delightful, independent shop stocks gorgeous pressies for him and for her including jewelery, crockery and stationary. Most of it is vintage inspired, which really gives their stock some real character. They also offer a selection of cute cards, so why not kill two birds with one stone whilst you're there!
For those of you really looking to splash out this year, head to Alexander Parkin for all your jewelery needs. A little more expensive and up market than your usual retailer, this will truely make your gift sparkle. Plus, if you're looking for that special ring this year, Alexander Parkin is definitely the place to go!
Your other half may have a sweet tooth and instead of opting for the usual box of chocs, why not go vintage and grab them a bag of pic-a-mix! We're not talking Woolies here but Super Sweet located near Clifton Down Shopping centre. Oozing charm from the moment you enter through the doors, there's sweets of days gone by as well as a selection of modern classics. Scrumptiously Sweet on Gloucester Road is also another great find, offering gift baskets and a selection of hand-made and vintage sugary goodness.

I love Iota - it's got some really adorable gifts and I always find myself popping in there if I can't think of anything to buy as a gift. The staff are always really friendly too :) Thanks!
