Has someone taken over the Hobgoblin?

Indeed. The Hobgoblin is still under the aegis of Enterprise Inns but they appear to be allowing considerable freedom to the new owner James, ex barrister and a man deeply committed to turning this place around. The improvements have been swift and effective. Apart from a good selection of fine ales, the owner hot smokes his own pork joints, ribs and beef brisket and is serving the best burgers and bar food I have tried in 10 years living in BS6. Please check out the menu - it is superb. Simple yet basic and the quality and very reasonable prices makes this revamped watering hole second to none.

Will be good to see how it goes. I always liked the Hobgoblin and thought it had a lot of potential when I used to drink there about five years ago.
