If you were baffled to see a colourful array of scarecrows on Coldharbour Road in Redland this month you certainly weren't alone.

Questions were posed on social networking sites such as Twitter and they really were the talk of the town.

Were they a student prank? An art insulation? A way of tackling seagulls? Or were they a permanent addition to the road? The new garden gnomes or political signs?

No. It turns out that they were part of the nearby Westbury-on-Trym festival.

See Westbury-on-Trym People for more details.
