A year or so ago we were being bombarded with stories of companies going bust due to the recession but more recently this seems to have eased off...or so we thought.

This week, thousands of holidaymakers were left in the lurch after another airline went bust and now we're hearing that a Redland/Cotham based company has fallen foul of the credit crunch.
As if this wasn't bad news enough for the 40 people facing unemployment, the engineering company was responsible for some of the key work on the Weston-super-Mare rebuild.
Joyner Morgan was the main mechanical services contractor on the pier working
for main contractor John Sisk and Son when it went into voluntary liquidation
on Friday.
According to the Bristol Evening Post, staff working directly for Joyner Morgan on the pier – a range of
plumbers, electricians and engineers – were contacted by phone on Monday
morning and told not to go into work.
Joyner Morgan managing director Geoff Jones confirmed the firm had
gone into voluntary liquidation but refused to comment further.
What a sad day for those workers and everyone involved in the pier rebuild, not to mention all those tourists eagerly awaiting the re-opening of the pier.
