One parking rule for us, another for Bristol City Council staff!!

Parking can be a right nightmare in Redland and most residents take care to abide by the strict parking rules - or they will get a fine.

If you park for one hour and one minute in a one hour parking slot then you could fall foul of the preying traffic warden.
Once I was moving house and they were stood there ready to ticket the van which I was loading my stuff in to - bloomin vultures!
How come then, they seem to be able to park where they want, when they want?
The Bristol Evening Post carried photographic proof of Bristol City Council staff flouting the parking laws, which they work so hard to enforce, on Whiteladies Road this month.
The vehicle in question was blatantly parked on double yellow lines outside the Jersey Lily pub, even though there was an empty parking bay in front.
Pup landlord Marc Ruggles said the driver was unrepentant when asked about his poor parking on Tuesday.
Mr Ruggles told the Post: "They just pulled up outside and one of them sat there for around 10-15 minutes while the other was off ticketing bays.
"When they first pulled up there was nothing behind them. One of
my colleagues camera phoned them, but they just don't seem to care. I've
moaned about them before on numerous occasions on the parking services
number.
"It is frustrating, as when we are loading and there are people
parked in the wrong spaces or in loading bays and we complain, the
council don't do anything."
A spokesman for Bristol City Council said: "Civil Enforcement Officers can park on double yellows – but only if there is no available parking space nearby.
"This should not have happened and the council will investigate."
So what do you think? This is one instance when the council worker was caught on camera but it may well be the tip of the iceberg.
Surely, these parking wardens should lead by example - or is it a case of do as I say not as I do?
