Cycling City Comes to Redland

Cyclists of all ages and abilities are
invited to take part in a social bike ride from Redland this Sunday morning
(September 13th) as part of Bristol's Cycling City programme.
The ride, described as "very relaxed" will go at an easy pace
starting from St Andrews
Park (Effingham Road side) at 10.30. Redland
residents are invited to join in at Redland Green at 10.45.
Riders, who will be in the care of Cycling
City staff, will then head to the Downs, cross the Suspension Bridge and enter the Ashton
Court Estate.
A break at the Golf Cafe in Ashton
Court and a chance to explore the park will then
be followed by a return trip following the same route, which has been chosen to
minimise hills.
The ride will be about 12 miles in total and cyclists should reckon on the event
taking about two and a half hours.
The trip follows on from an earlier social bike ride from Bishopston in June
and will be followed by Cycling Sunday on September 20th at Redland Green
when Cycling City staff will be on hand to advise on
all aspects of cycling for adults and children.
Cycling City members have also been
visiting households in Redland and Bishopston this summer to give information
about the initiative. Cycling City aims to double the number of people in
Greater Bristol who regularly cycle.
Participants on this Sunday’s trip are asked
to contact the organisers on 315 5110 or infor@cyclingcitycub.com to let them
know they are taking part.
But, I reckon that if you just turned up
with your bike, no-one’s going to try and stop you taking part are they?
Are they?
