Easton Cowboys and AFC Redland served up an 11-goal treat in the pick of the weekend's Bristol and District League Premier Division matches.
Second from bottom of the table and struggling to avoid relegation, Redland threatened a surprise before eventually losing 6-5.
Ollie Bendell, Steve Alexander, Barry Gibb, Adam Harley and Craig Chivers shared Redland's goals, but the Cowboys pulled rank, courtesy of Karim Rendell's hat-trick, Paul Coles' double and a Benjamin Gordon strike.
Beaufort strengthened their position in second place, Lorenzo Gaetani and Justin Cattle scoring in a 2-1 victory over fellow title contenders Lebeq Tavern Courage, who went in front through a Shane Hobbs penalty.
But Hanham Sunday remain favourites to finish top after trouncing basement side White Tree 7-0 to extend their 100 per cent record to eight games. Tom Hamilton, Nick McCootie and Aaron Cornwall each netted twice, while Twayne Plummer completed the rout.
Elsewhere, Marney Long, Lee Cook and James Laver shot Katsura to a 3-2 victory over Harvesters, who replied through James Davis and Nathan Roberts.
Steve Blackmore (2) and Wayne Fearon secured a 3-1 success for The Anchor against Wizard Wanderers, a result which saw the pub side close the gap on runaway Division I leaders Avon Plate to seven points.
Longreach Athletic and Salmon Solutions remain in trouble after cancelling one another out, Geraint Rogers and Arron West scoring for Athletic in a 2-2 draw which does neither team any favours, while Richard Tonkin (2) and Andrew Ford earned Golden Hill Sunday a 3-3 draw with Lebeq Reserves.
Josh Kush netted the only goal as Bristol 5 Seniors saw off Sarafan Sports to move to within five points of Division II pace-setters Mendip SBW, while Shane Boucher and Ben Gigwell exchanged goals as Lockstock United and Signal Generals fought a 1-1 draw.
Far more remarkable was the 6-6 draw between Marcliff and Brislington 1987. Andrew Peacock (2), Andrew Durge (2), Alan Powell and Dave Trimby netted for Marcliff, with Steve Heggarty (2), Paul Draper (2), Chris Frape and Neil Smith replying.
There were also goals galore in Division III, where Longreach Athletic Reserves outgunned Cathedral City 7-3 thanks Ian Golby (3), Paul Balmore (2), Tim Wakefield and an own goal. Andy Forse (2) and Steve Hart responded to ensure the visitors did not have things entirely their own way.
Shire Sunday remain hard on the heels of leaders Cutters Friday after meting out an 11-2 drubbing to Oracle, Tim Martin and Dan Griffiths weighing in with hat-tricks. Charlie Harris scored added a further two and was joined on the scoresheet by Andy Cook, Scott Lambourne and Craig Domone.
Andy Helling helped himself to four goals as The Squire beat Warwick 5-4, while Craig Thomas and Dan Llewellyn shot third-placed Midland Spinner to a 2-1 success at West Country United.
