Practice managers and those in charge of the finances at Redland surgeries can attend a series of special workshops that will enable them to get the best out of their financial systems and best manage and plan their practice finances.
The two workshops are being organised by the Bristol office of PKF Accountants & business advisers and are taking place at the firm’s Bristol office on 3 and 17 March.
They follow a series of similar sessions that proved so popular the team at PKF decided to set up these extra workshops for those who missed the previous events.
Lead by members of PKF’s medical team including Adrienne Lloyd and Tony Stringer, each workshop will comprise a number of sessions lasting up to an hour each including a mix of tutor lead presentations, group discussion, practical examples and case studies.
The first workshop on 3 March is billed as ‘Accounting for Profit’ and will cover the basics of accounting systems and internal control. This will enable those in charge of the finances to ensure they have reliable and robust operating systems, understand and interpret the practice accounts and the key indicators available to monitor and assess financial performance.
The second is taking place on 17 March. Called ‘Planning for Profit’ it will cover the different sources and methods of practice finance, cost behaviour and the more advanced skills of budgeting and cash flow forecasting. It will also look at the role of the practice accountant and how to get the best value out of a practice’s accountancy service.
Tony Stringer, director of medical services director at PKF said: “Finance partners and practice managers need to decide how they will take their practices forward. It is hoped that the two workshops will help those in attendance keep their practices on a sound financial footing and help them plan for the future.
“The workshops promise to be very informative and productive sessions and we’re looking forward to meeting GPs from right across the South West and hearing their thoughts and experiences.”
Each workshop will start promptly at 1.15 pm and will finish by 5.00 pm.
For further information or to book a place at either workshop please contact Margaret Mitchell on 0117 906 4000 to reserve a place. Cost per place is £30 (inc VAT).
