Sensational Cheltenham Whaddon go through to quarter-finals

CHELTENHAM Whaddon beat Vines Park Bowls Club in a sensational performance in the Top Club event, winning 4-1.

Results: Two wood singles C Parker 16-15, four wood singles N Kitchen 21-14 , Pairs D Newman & R Merrick 24, T Duggan & S Poyner 16. Triples, J Adams, T Hyde ,P Taylor 14, R Priddey, H Lammas, W Oliver 13. Fours, F Ladbrook, J Cratchley, D Hughes, R Hawkins 15. A Nicklin, P Davis, A Leedham, R Bourne 26.

Whaddon have had wonderful success in this competition beating Churchdown, Bristol St Andrews, Bristol Redland Park, and old rivals Cheltenham Town to win the area finals.

Victory over Vines Park puts them in the last 16 where they travel to Cheltenham.

If they reached the final they face a trip to Worthing.

Whaddon are doing extremely well this season having a mixed fours rink still in competition, a mixed pairs and Gloucestershire two rink.
